It seemed so far away and now it is upon us. Yes, the Washington State Genealogical Society’s Annual Conference begins Friday night.
Patricia Walls Stamm has four excellent topics you won’t want to miss:
Social Networking for Genealogists
Death Has Many Faces
Elements of a Useful Research Road Map
Discovering Our Ancestor’s Neighborhood
Professional speakers don’t come our way very often; it’s not too late to make plans to come to this once-a-year conference.

The internet can help you overcome these handicaps with just the touch of a few buttons.
Want to hear the latest on technology that was shared at RootsTech? Check out this website and listen to both technology and genealogy innovations for the future. Where is genealogy heading? How is technology going to help us (even when the techies don't know that they are helping us!)
Here's a peek at what RootsTech had to offer and got us excited about the future for genealogists: http://tinyurl.com/4ew2ghn

Our own Sandra Floberg will be the presenter. She has conducted her own survey of the 10 most popular reference books we should all consider having in our homes.
Her intention is to help us decide which books we would like Barnes and Noble to stock prior to our fund-raiser in May.
If you like what you hear and decide there are some books you would like to consider buying, be sure to get your requests to Susan Faulkner right away. She will have Barnes and Noble order in the books for you to review. No pressure to buy (although your purchases on that day will benefit TCGS and help fund our Washington State Genealogical Society Annual meeting in September.)
After Sandra's presentation, we will provide more information so that you can prepare for our next big event, the Barnes and Noble TCGS Fundraiser, May 21st.
Stay tuned for more details.

It only seemed natural to create a blog for our society so that we can tell everyone about the exciting events happening this year.
We'll keep everyone up-to-date on the latest events at the Tri-City Genealogical Society located here in the Tri-Cities, Washington.
Come back often to see what's happening.
